Our Happy Nowruz Message in a Bottle is a card, gift and keepsake all rolled into one. It features a potted Hyacinth, which happens to be representative of Spring, which is what the holiday celebrates. Hyacinth is one of the items found most often on a traditional Haftsin Table.
Not only does our Our Message in a Bottle come with a separate card in which we will print your personal message and a hand-printed coordinating To and From gift tag, but we've also made a matching card that lists all the items that can be found on a traditional Haftsin table with some of those elements made into our version of "confetti" - cardstock cutouts. (See picture.) It's fun for kids and adults alike.
We can also add 3 ounces of Hershey's Chocolate Kisses if you'd like.
Please note that if you do not provide your personal message, we will simply provide blank cards.
It's nice to recognize your friends, family members and/or coworkers who celebrate. Nowruz. I , myself, learned about it from my Middle Eastern friends, and it really is a lovely holiday that I wish were more widespread.
Here's just a little bit of what CNN reporters Christina Maxouris and Artemis Moshtaghian had to say about Nowruz:
For millions of people across the globe, Nowruz is no small celebration. Think Christmas, New Year's and Fourth of July combined -- and add to it fire festivities, delicious meats, rice and spices, family gatherings, street dances and loud banging on pots.
But it's much more than that, too. Nowruz "promotes values of peace and solidarity between generations and within families," the United Nations says. It's a time of reconciliation and neighborliness, "contributing to cultural diversity and friendship among peoples and different communities."
And we could all use some of that, no matter what it's called.
